Gladys Heitin was a long-time friend of our cohost Hasia Segal. She was a veteran Boston Workmen's Circle member and leader, a teacher of Yiddish, and a great activist for Yiddish, Yiddish Culture, and secular Jewish/Yiddish identity. We replay excerpts from an interview with Gladys done in 2005 for our program in memory of the late Yiddish actress and radio personality from Boston Leah Post Carrey, with whom Gladys was close friends for many decades.
