The Yiddish Voice, the Yiddish-language radio show heard in Boston and on the Internet, celebrated its 20th birthday by performing its first-ever recording in front of a live audience, namely, the attendees of the 2014 Yidish-Vokh at the Pearlstone Center in Reisterstown, MD, near Baltimore. This milestone recording was aired the following Wednesday at 7:30 PM on Boston radio airwaves via WUNR 1600 AM and around the world through the web site yiddishvoice.com . This evening's Yiddish Voice features a mixture of talk, interviews, humor, and music. The show's usual host and producer Mark David is joined by Binyumen Schaechter as cohost, musical director, announcer, and sidekick, and Gitl Schaechter-Viswanath as gameshow coordinator, who leads several lucky contestants in a special exhibition round of the beloved quiz-show game "Freg-Geshleg".
